Below are files that contain materials for a mini-course that I developed for a Jewish summer camp - "OMG, God's on my iPod(TM)! There is a booklet with song lyrics, a booklet of links to texts with learning activities included, and a guide that features some explanation and at least one question about each song in the main booklet. It is fascinating to see how many concepts of God emerge from these popular songs - and to see what other songs students might suggest.
When I taught a version of this mini-course at Crane Lake Camp in the summer of 2009, I developed a song about God with the campers each week based on their comments about what they believe about God. "God can be" is an exercise I have used for many years to help participants articulate their own expressions about the divine. The answers are always enlightening.
